Activities for all new students

Sunday 24/1

12 p.m.

The main buildning

“Reccefika”. Come to our cosy café and have some cookies and sandwiches. We have a reduced price for all “reccar” on this date, so take this opportunity to have some traditional Swedish “fika” and meet us in the recce committee. We will “fika”, play some boardgames and hang out. Don’t forget to bring your “terminskort” so we can guarantee that you get a reduced price.

Friday 29/1

4 p.m.

The main building

“Recce Reception” Meet the other “reccar” and learn more about the nation and its traditions. All the clubs and groups of the nation will introduce themselves and at the end of the evening you can enjoy dinner and even stay for the club.

Tuesday 2/2

6 p.m.

The pub

“Reccepubrunda” We meet at Värmlands for the pub crawl at 6 p.m. then we go to some of the other nations and have something to drink at each nation (both alcohol and non-alcohol drinkers are welcome.) This is a good way to learn where to find the other nations. We have a limited amount of places which are available on a first come first serve basis, so talk to us in the recce committee if you are interested.

Wednesday 3/2

6 p.m.

The library

Songbook singing and information about how to behave at a gask. The event will take place in the library of the large building. You will get familiar with many of the more popular songs we sing at gasks. You will then also have an opportunity to buy a songbook to a reduced price. Cheap food and drinks will be available.

Saturday 13/2

3.45 p.m.

The main building

Reccegask. We will meet at Värmlands and walk together up to the University building to listen to live classical music played by the University orchestra. The university’s dean will also give a speech to all new students. We will then walk back to Värmlands for dinner followed by a party at Stockholms.

Don’t miss this opportunity to experience a true Uppsala student tradition and also to have a wonderful night with great food and wine along with a lot of fun and singing with new friends.
